What's New in HDR Light Studio 9 (Drop 1)
A new light type - Lumi-Curve
This brand-new light type is a game-changer for artists who want complete control over reflections, falloff, and illumination. Unlike fixed-shape lights, Lumi-Curve is literally flexible, you can draw, bend, and sculpt your lighting with precision, creating seamless reflections, flowing highlights, stylised glows, and dramatic trails. It’s intuitive, powerful, and opens up entirely new creative possibilities.

OCIO Color management Integration Improvements
•Updated to OpenColorIO 2.4.1
•Load any OCIO config into HDR Light Studio without needing to set an Environment Variable.
•Override the OCIO Environment Variable directly inside HDR Light Studio.
•Use HDRLS_OCIO_CONFIG Environment Variable to set an OCIO config file for just HDR Light Studio to use.
•By Default LUTs are not applied to loaded images. A checkbox enables choosing a LUT. (Old Projects will honor their color settings)
•By Default LUTs are not applied to Production Renders. A checkbox enables choosing a LUT. (Old Projects will honor their color settings)
•Display LUT (for your display hardware) is an Application Preference now. This simplifies view LUT dropdowns containing only DIsplay LUTs now.
Dependancy Updates:
OpenEXR 3.3.2
OpenImageIO 3.0.3.1
Smart Dolly Scalar
This setting is now stored on a per project basis from the application Preferences panel.
Interface Scaling Fixes
There have been a number of fixes that means the HDR Light Studio user interface should scale properly on your display.
Known Issues
•Saving Production Renders images as EXR files takes longer in this version due to changes in OpenImageIO 3.0.3.1. This has been raised with OpenColorIO and we hope to speed things back up soon.
